Youtube Vlogging: Increase Organic Traffic and Subscribers

Updated: Dec 6, 2020

I started a kids-niche Youtube vlog, ToysPlayFunLearn, about 5 months ago. For the first few moths, I could rarely get even 1 view a day. And that was really frustrating.

Frequently checking your Youtube analytics and finding out NOBODY viewed your videos in the past few days since your most recent upload is really agonizing. Especially if you have already done more than 10 videos and you have realized doing a video isn't easy.

If you vlog to earn a passive, part-time, or even regular income through vlogging, you must accept that fact that it takes a while to succeed. It's a trial-and-error online (virtual) business.

I'm also just starting, but have seen a significant increase in my organic traffic recently.

It was only a few weeks ago when I discovered how to increase organic traffic in Youtube. This is, most probably, what other successful Youtubers have been doing all along to grow their audience (organic traffic) and subscribers.

These are what I did to (significantly) grow my Youtube channel.

Create a video based on people's needs and not merely wants.

When you create videos based on people's needs, the chance of having more people search for those kinds of videos is more likely to be sustained in the long run.

Furthermore, it is important that your videos provide value to your viewers. Decide how you want your Youtube videos to look like whether it's going to provide information or to merely entertain people. If you have the gift of creativity, then perhaps you can combine both.

Upload often (at least 2-3 videos per week) without sacrificing quality. The more consistent you upload videos in Youtube, the more likely you'll get recommended or suggested to other viewers.

In addition, uploading Youtube videos regularly will allow you to look into what kind of search terms (Youtube search) are your videos showing up to those seeking similar contents.

I'd say knowing what keywords are being picked up by Youtube's algorithm and doing more of those types of videos is very powerful.

Include your niche keywords in the:

  • title,

  • description, and

  • tags

Simple as that. Nothing fancy about here.

Mention your niche keywords in all your videos several times.

As a newbie Youtuber, with less than 1 year of experience, doing this actually blew my mind. Remember when I told you in the beginning that there had been a period when I never got any view for several days? The whole thing changed when I did this!

Okay, let me break it down for you.

Know what keywords are getting picked up by Youtube based on your uploaded videos. You can find these SEO words when you go to your analytics. This is why I really encourage you guys to consistently upload videos so you'd have a better understanding regarding what keywords are giving you more views.

For my channel, ToysPlayFunLearn, when I started mentioning 'preschool and kindergarten learning videos' in my every video my Youtube views, watch hours, and subscribers incredibly increased >999%.

These numbers maybe small compared to other Youtubers, but what I'm trying to share with you guys here is that combining these four simple strategies (especially #4) could significantly increase your Youtube organic traffic (views and watch hours), as well as your subscribers.

It worked for me. I hope these would work for you too.

So there you go guys, I hope we all get successful in our dreams to profit from Youtube.
