Yesterday, May 3, 2020, was such a bright and warm day. The weather was in the 70's and we couldn't let the day pass without going out to have some fresh air and a dose of sunlight.
My husband looked online for open parks nearby and we found Mount Saint Mary Park in St. Charles, Illinois. It is located at Geneva Rd At Prairie St, St. Charles, IL 60174. We went ahead at around 1:30 pm and arrived there about half an hour later.
Mount Saint Mary Park is a 29 acre park towards the center of the town. There, we some some people walking and jogging, having picnics, and walking their dogs. There was no large group and people were practicing social distancing because of Covid 19.
It's our family's first time to visit Mount Saint Mary Park and we totally enjoyed its very clean and relaxing surrounding. It also has very nice paths, picnic benches, drinking fountains (but closed when we visited the park), basket ball court, a tennis court, and others.
The scenic views of the trees providing shadows are just magnificent. The people are very friendly too. There's a lot of space for kids to run around. A playground is also set around the corner.
What amazed us most are the beautiful displays of arts (sculptures) in the park. My personal favorites are the 'Winged Figure' and the 'Truth'. They both look so attractive and meaningful. In every angle you look at them, both are also so artistically crafted.
As for our kids, they loved 'Mr. Eggwards'. My youngest even sang the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty. I guess it's one of the other kids' favorites too as I saw a lot of them posing with it.
Alongside of Mount Saint Mary Park, there's also Fox River which adds to its relaxing atmosphere. The park is absolutely wonderful, worthy of diamond rating!
