Have you reached the point in your life when you are searching for ways on how to grow as a person? I did... It was the time when I've had my kids who always look up to me as their role model.
Being a mother made me realize I can no longer afford to be careless and selfish. My world spins for my children. So I have to be a strong person because I am my sons' fortress.
Growing as a person is a sign of maturity-- something that you can be proud of. But how?
Here are my thoughts on how you can grow as a person:
Accept that you are an autonomous individual who can make correct decisions for your life. You would not allow others to control or manipulate your thoughts and actions because you remain responsible for your own own future.
Behave as a socially responsible individual toward others. It is your duty not to inflict harm of any form to anybody.
Genuine and eternal pleasures in life cannot be achieved when you see yourself succeed at the expense of others. You have to reach your highest potentials through hard work, honesty, and perseverance.
Know exactly what you want in life (your personal needs and desires) and set goals and objectives how to achieve them. Do a SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realisitc, and timely) planning your your future.
Don't be discouraged with life's setbacks. They are there to sharpen us so we may write our life story in the most magnificent and creative way.
Others matter. Hone your people skills. Love and be lovable-- among your family, colleagues, friends, and enemies.
Enjoy good people's company and be a trustworthy comrade. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said,
“The only way to have a friend is to be one.”
Don't let your past take you as its prisoner forever. Focus on the present. Learn to forgive others, as well as yourself. Move on with life. Embrace every morning free from grudges and you shall see every wonderful thing God has created for you.

Excuses and resentments are for the weak. Are you? You're not! Engage in positive self-talk and see how your perspectives, resilience and motivation would change.
Affirm your strengths. Remember your previous triumphs and use those as inspirations to become better than what you are now.
Ask yourself, "What have I done in the past to succeed?" Then do it again to get the same results. If it fails, evaluate and revise your plan and action until you get the desired result. Never give up.
We are nothing without God. It is our ultimate responsibility to worship God in everything we do. So, do all thing in His glory.
Do what is right and good, and depart yourself from what is wrong and evil. Everything on Earth will come to an end, but the rewards of heaven are eternal.
