Last Sunday, we were looking for an open beach where the kids could just play on the sand.
We searched the internet and found Lighthouse Beach in Evanston, Illinois. We called the place to ask if the beach is open for public. Luckily, it was but no swimming is yet allowed.
When we arrived there, there is a staff who monitors the place to ensure nobody swims. Visitors, however, are allowed to dip in the water as long as the water level does not go above their knees.
It's our first time to visit Lighthouse Beach and it is such a clean small beach, just right for us to get our dose of sunlight and for the kids to enjoy the nature instead of getting bored at home playing video games or watching movies. It is a hidden gem!
The shore is smooth and uncluttered too.
There is also a historic lighthouse which you can view from the beach.
A limited parking lot is available in front, and beside it is a magnificent mansion.
Lighthouse Beach in Evanston, Illinois is indeed a beautiful place to visit.
